Update...

I never really did a 9 month update on Kate and now she is on her way to 10. So here are a few things she has been doing lately just so I can keep track. She has been saying mama and dada a lot lately. Tonight she pulled herself up to a standing position in her crib for the first time. She loves to just play (especially with everything she is not supposed to play with like remotes, cords, and cell phones). She loves music and tries to sing and bounce along. She is enjoying her new freedom with crawling and follows me around the house. I wish I had her 9 month measurements, but we didn't schedule her checkup early enough and they were like 6 weeks out, but I'm sure she weighs 20 +. She just keeps on getting more beautiful and more fun every day, which I never thought was possible.

Here are a few pics I took in the backyard the other night.

She has not been the best nap taker lately. I feel like I am putting her in jail. She grabs on to the bars and looks out and me and cries, it is so sad to watch. Paul went in to check on her one day to see if she fell asleep and this is what he found. Poor girl...

She just started pulling herself up on things. She gets so proud of herself and she thinks she is such a big girl. I love this smile.

she crawls!

She is still a little slow, but she's getting the hang of it. I can't believe my tiny girl is crawling!

Pittsburg Lake...

So Friday night was my first night away from Kate. She stayed at aunt Mindy's house while Paul and I went camping with some friends. We hiked to Pittsburg Lake up A.F. canyon. We are still sore from the hour and a half hike up with 40 lb. packs, but it was worth it. It is so gorgeous. Here are a few pics...

There was a full moon that night, which was awesome, until we tried to go to sleep. It was so bright outside...

Hike to Stewart Falls.....

On Saturday we hiked to Stewart Falls with some of my family. I hadn't been since I was like ten, so it was fun to go again. It was such a pretty hike, so sorry there are a bazillion pictures.
Kate and papa. (If you look close, you can see her 3rd tooth)
Kate observing nature.
It was such a pretty view.
All of us at the falls.
Heather, Amanda and me.
I look ultra cheesy, Paul looks extra serious and Kate just looks cute.
Grandpa took a turn carrying Kate.
I took a turn too but only for like ten minutes. She was stinkin' heavy.
By the end of the hike, Kate was so worn out. She kept falling asleep in the backpack.
fun day...

Learning to stand....

Kate is growing up too fast. She will be 9 months old tomorrow! Now she loves to stand up on her own. (Looks like her balancing lessons have paid off.) It is too weird for me to see a picture of her standing all up all by herself. She is my tiny little doll.
I love this little face when she was falling.

Here is a video of her new accomplishment.

Meadow hot pots...

Last night we took a little trip to Meadow (right by Fillmore). I know it sounds a little strange, but Paul bought a bike from a guy in St. George and so rather than him taking it a part and shipping it, he said that he would meet us in Meadow. So anyway, everytime we used to drive back and forth between St. George and Utah County, we would stop at these hot pots in Meadow. They are clear out in the middle of a big open field, and they are so nice and clean. We hadn't been since Kate was born, so we decided to go last night. It was a little rainy, but it was so fun. Kate sat on the side in her stroller and watched us. If you are ever driving through, you should definatley try it out.
It was such a pretty night....
Ok, I just realized that it totally looks like we were skinny dipping, but I swear we weren't. We look a little goofy in this pic, but you get the idea.

Little boy kate...

Today we went swimming at my aunt's house in Alpine. Kate loved going down the slide, and I love the total cheeser on Paul's face.

Paul started working nights tonight. (6 pm-6am). I think I am going to die. At least it is only 3 nights a week. Kate and I were a little bored, so I decided to see if she looked like a boy if I put her in her robot pj's and slicked over her hair. What do you think?

Funny girl...

Here is Kate just being her usual cute self. I love how she starts out all soft and gets louder and louder. Enjoy!
